Biography: An accomplished Barrister and Solicitor and active community member in India a decade before migrating to Canada, Lata Jayamohan Menon has become a recognized name in the legal community in Ontario since 2007 and has become an active supporter and champion of women’s equality and rights within local and global platforms.
As the founder of Menon Law Professional Corporation, Lata Menon has successfully represented clients within all divisions of court, including the Ontario Court of Appeal and Superior Court of Justice. In 2020, Ms. Menon completed a specialized course in Negotiations and Leadership, and Leveraging the Power of Emotions from Harvard Law School, which has enhanced her ability to deliver greater service to her clients and community.
While Ms. Menon has built a successful and thriving career as a Barrister and Solicitor, she is also a founding member of Indo-Canadian Women’s Foundation, a non-profit organization that represents professional women of different backgrounds and is founded on the principles to “Embrace, Engage, Encourage and Empower” women to succeed, not only in business, but in all areas of life. With over 600 members at the time of the organization’s launch in February 2023, Ms. Menon’s goal is to unite women from around the world, to inspire each other to succeed. She is also working as the legal advisor of many non profit organizations.
The recipient of many awards and recognition, Ms. Menon’s top accolades include the best Barrister and Solicitor award in 2015 from the premier of Ontario, IWD Women Achiever Award in 2016 from Dancing Damsels Inc, the Women’s Impact Award from Ontario Hero’s in 2022, and the 2023 recipient of a Maanmaatii Punjaban Award for her success and achievement within the community as a well-respected lawyer, entrepreneur and advocate of women’s rights and equality. Ms. Menon’s achievements and success proves her to be a true leader, mentor, and formidable force to influence and inspire women all around.
