Kate Todd has been in the entertainment industry for over 16 years. Her extensive experience in the industry includes: film/tv, spokesperson, voice-over, host, musician and music licensing. She brings her breadth and wealth of knowledge to the classroom and becomes a personal mentor to her students throughout their artistic journey. Kate first started writing songs during her downtime on the set of the award winning TV show ‘Radio Free Roscoe,’ where she portrayed “Shady Lane” singer/songwriter Lily Randall. She's played characters such as ‘Sally’ on ‘Life With Derek,’ ‘Erica’ on ‘My Babysitters A Vampire.’ Her voice work on ‘Assassins Creed: Unity’ franchise and ‘Family Guy’ have been highlights throughout her impressive acting career. In 2016 Kate had the great pleasure of being awarded with the ‘Versatile Entertainer of The Year’ award at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville, TN. In 2017 she was recognized as a Modern Country nominee ‘Female Artist of The Year’ and ‘Female Vocalist of The Year’ at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville, TN In her 6 years as a coach, Kate’s students have gone on to book leading roles on TV series and films such as: ‘Odd Squad,’ ‘Everything Sucks!’ ‘Grim Ripper,’ Family Channel’s ‘The Next Step’ and Fresh TV’s ‘Backstage.’ Most recently her private coaching landed her client a new role on the hit TV crime drama, ‘Suits.’ She has worked closely and coached students successfully into top agent signings and management. She has been a respected and highly requested coach to professional working actors and musicians for over 6 years. Throughout her career, Kate has had the privilege of studying and teaching under the tutelage of Lewis Baumander of LB Acting Studios. Kate has a loyal following of music students. She also has had the good fortunate of coaching young stars such as Johnny Orlando (Capitol Records) to fame. Johnny Orlando has over 4 million Instagram followers and is now traveling around the world on sold out tours. She has mentored and coached students to realize their dreams such as releasing albums and EPs. Kate truly brings the joy of the artistic journey to her students. This creates an engaged and inspired environment for the beginner or even the seasoned artist to thrive. Over the years, Kate has shared the stage with such well known acts such as Nelly Furtado, The Barenaked Ladies and Great Big Sea and she has co-written songs with the likes of Canadian Country music legend, Patricia Conroy. Additionally, she has played in countless venues in Canada and United States and has been featured and nominated in music festivals such as Canadian Music Week, Indie Week, Tin Pan North and Toronto Independent Music Awards.
